LCHA House Hockey

 

The LCHA House program is a recreational hockey program for the youth in Lapeer and its surrounding areas. Our fees include the costs for ice time, referees fees, administrative costs, jerseys and socks, team registration fees, coaching and referee expenses and some training/team equipment costs. The registration fees do not include any extra ice time or tournaments the team might participate in during the season.

The house season will begin with the draft skates. These skates are typically held the last two weeks of August. All house skaters are expected to participate in all draft skates. We take the player ratings from the coaches’ evaluations and try to form balanced house teams based upon the demonstrated abilities of the players. A draft in conducted with representatives from MAHA, the LCHA board and the coaches. We will announce the teams at the Parent/Player meeting just before the first practice. These meetings are considered mandatory.

Teams will participate in the Adray League and will play between 10-16 league games. Currently, the LCHA participates in the Adray East with teams from Flint, Saginaw, Bay County, Midland, Tawas, and Mt. Pleasant. If a team has 16 league games, eight games will be away. Coaches often schedule extra games, called 'scrimmages,' and teams often participate in one or more tournaments at the team's expense.

The 2010-2011 registration fee is $165 (Early Discount $155 Deadline July 31, 2010) and does not include the $35 USA Hockey registration. Please submit your USAH receipt with your registration application. Here are the age divisions the LCHA offers and the total cost at each level, including registration and USA Hockey registration.

Mites

Players with birth dates later than 2001 (generally 8 & under) are referred to as “Mites.” $670.

Squirts

Players with 2000 and 1999 birth dates. $850

PeeWees

Players with 1998 and 1997 birth dates. $1,275.

Bantams

Players with 1996 and 1995 birth dates. $1,375.

Midgets

Players with 1991-1994 birth dates. $1,400.


Girls are eligible to play on all house teams.


 Please note that the LCHA will not be accepting ride or other team placement requests for the 2009-2010 season. Requests to move up must be submitted to the Board at least two weeks before the draft skates begin.
